Correct Twist
When the sail is heading windward and all tell tales flutter simultaneously you have the correct twist.

Too Much Twist
If the sail luffs first in the upper part,
traveller is moved forward to increase the downward pull of the sheet, this increases leech tension and reduces twist
Too little Twist
If the sail luffs first in the lower part,
traveller must now be moved further aft. This will reduce the downward tension in the sheet, sail will be flattened in lower part, due to the pull of the sheet.
